I am Nonna Rose...
I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for more than 40 years; we have two grown children and one delightful grandchild. My family and friends are the most important to me, so I enjoy making things for them to show how much I care.
I have been a needle crafter for more than 40 years. As a child, I watched her mother and grandmother create beautiful one-of-a kind items. My mother was a seamstress and fashioned garments for the entire family. My grandmother crocheted fine threads into gorgeous handmade lace. Before I was a teenager I was sewing my own clothes, and began to crochet and knit.
I am not a designer, but a practical creator. I have a passion for handmade quality knits and one-of-a-kind sewn and crocheted items. During the past 25 years, knitting has taken center stage. I like to say that knitting is like yoga for the mind. It is an activity which frees me of stress.
I have a masters degree in education and years of teaching experience in the classroom. I use that teaching experience to teach needle arts to children and adults of all ages and walks of life.
In addition to knitting/crocheting and sewing, I am an avid reader and dabble with writing short stories. I also enjoying cooking and playing with my digital camera.
